Life is Not Perfect

I want to address something really important that’s on my heart today. I received a message from someone who said that they cannot relate to me because my life is perfect. I would like to clear that up right now and say that my life is far from perfect. No one has a perfect life. I work very hard, long hours, often late into the night. I do have my own business and work from home and have the flexibility to create my own schedule and choose how I spend my time. Yes, it is awesome being your own boss, but it also certainly has its challenges. There are many distractions that come along and managing your time effectively to be productive takes serious discipline which is something that I work on improving every day. If you are an entrepreneur or business owner who works from home, you know exactly what I’m talking about. If you work a full-time job, you have different challenges. We all have challenges on a regular basis and we all experience stress at some point. It’s how we learn to deal with those challenges, that can make the difference.

One thing I have learned over the years is that scheduling in “ME Time” is critical to your success, happiness, and well-being. I now believe that Self-care is not a luxury, it is an absolute necessity. It wasn’t always this way… If you do not take care of yourself, it will eventually catch up to you. Trust me, I know a lot about this. I experienced my own break down about 5 years ago, when I was putting myself at the bottom of the priority list for many many years until it finally caught up to me. As a wife, mom of two active boys, daughter, sister, friend, business owner, and leader in the community playing so many roles, I know a lot about what it feels like to be completely overwhelmed, overworked, exhausted, and totally stressed. I finally learned that by not taking care of me, everything in my life suffered- my relationships, my health, my happiness, and my productivity and success. At one point, I was in so much pain that I could barely function for months. It was at my breaking point, I knew something had to change. I discovered after attending my first women’s retreat, that I wasn’t really living, I was merely existing.

Once I realized that, I went on a mission to learn better ways to start taking care of myself. After several years of immersing myself in practicing self-care, working with mentors, coaches, taking seminars, attending personal development courses, I was able to begin turning my life around. I finally found a way in my mid-forties to feel better than I ever did before. This was a gradual process that took time. It did not happen over night. I am still on the journey to improve my life every day…

It takes work and commitment to make yourself a priority. It’s so easy to slip back into old self-sabotaging habits as we get busy working and doing so much for others. Once you understand the benefits of putting yourself first. you will realize that it affects everyone else around you in a positive way. This is why I am so passionate about working with women to live their best lives because I know what is possible. I see so many women who are feeling just like I was and don’t know what to do about it.

I am here to support you. The reason I created the “I am Complete” Women’s Retreat and “I am Complete” Woman’s Club is because it was something that I really needed in my own life and I found there were so many other women that needed it to. It is so nice to know that we don’t have to go through life’s challenges alone. We can learn and grow together in a safe, loving, sisterhood community with no judgment. It is possible to live a happy, healthy fulfilled life when you have the right resources available to you. Thanks for taking the time to read this message. If you can relate to what I’ve shared, please reach out to me and we can have conversation about this.

Much love and gratitude,
